If you're tasked with planning a bachelor party, there's probably one main question all attendees are asking you: Where are we going? However, before you consider some of the best bachelor party destinations for your celebration, you'll want to make sure you lock in a few details, such as the travel dates and the guest list. "When planning a bachelor party, it is important to plan in advance," explains Allison Odhner, the founder and lead planner of Bach to Basic. "Typically, it takes a bit [of time] to rally a group to commit, submit funds, book flights, etc., so the more time the planner has to wrangle the group, the better," she says. Start planning the trip at least six months in advance, she says. "Of course, we can put together an event in a shorter amount of time, but if you are hoping to get first dibs on everything and the best experience with the least amount of stress, planning as far out as possible is incredibly helpful."
Meet the Expert
- Allison Odhner is the founder and lead planner of Philadelphia-based Bach to Basic, an all-inclusive bachelor and bachelorette party planning business.
- Dr. Terika L. Haynes is the CEO and founder of Dynamite Travel, a luxury travel and media consultancy. She has 15 years of experience in the travel industry.
- Avery Singer and Jolie Lauren Golub are the co-founders of BachBoss, an all-inclusive luxury planning service for bachelor and bachelorette parties.
In addition to getting the trip on the books months ahead of the trip, Odhner also emphasizes the importance of making sure logistics and expectations are discussed by the entire group. "Be upfront about costs and a general plan to get everyone on board and encourage guests to purchase flights in a timely manner so they are committed to the trip," she says. Once you've confirmed those details, you're ready to select a location. Whether you’re looking for an all-out party scene or a chill getaway, we've got you covered. From warm and energetic cities like Miami to laid-back, outdoor-forward spots like Alaska, here are the 28 best bachelor party destinations.
New York, New York

Where to stay: For the bachelor who wants to embrace the city atmosphere, Dr. Terika L. Haynes, the CEO and founder of Dynamite Travel, recommends booking the Dream Hotel (locations downtown or in Midtown) or the Ace Hotel. However, if you're planning a more laid-back weekend—and want your accommodations to reflect that, she recommends The Hoxton in Brooklyn.
What to do: Regardless of whether you consider yourself a New York sports fan or not, purchasing tickets to a game is always a great option for a bachelor party weekend, Haynes says. Depending on the season, head over to Citi Field to catch some baseball or migrate to Madison Square Garden for ice hockey or basketball. Before or after your expedition, hop around to some local bars or clubs to take in the famous nightlife scene.
Atlantic City, New Jersey

Where to stay: Often referred to as "the Las Vegas of the East Coast," Atlantic City is one of the best bachelor party destinations—particularly in the summer months, due to its beachfront location. Haynes recommends booking a stay at the Tropicana Hotel, the Borgata Hotel & Casino, or the Ocean Casino Resort.
What to do: Spend time at one of the many casinos located along the boardwalk—and try your hand at poker, blackjack, and the slots, Haynes says. You can also consider booking a golf outing—or partaking in the nightlife and restaurant scene with a night on the town.
Miami, Florida
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/DSC_1113-HDR-896f152649c34b82ab4716136718225e.jpg)
Courtesy of W South Beach
Where to stay: Arguably one of the hottest spots in Miami, W South Beach has become a go-to for grooms-to-be, Odhner says. Go all out for the E-WOW Penthouse or opt for one of the triplex bungalows with a private plunge pool. Regardless of choice, every room has ocean views, plus access to poolside cabanas, rooftop courts (tennis and basketball!), and a dedicated W Insider—available 24/7 for any request.
What to do: On the mainland, Odhner recommends visiting the Wynwood district for a vibrant street art scene. Make sure to book at least one dinner out at a top-tier restaurant like Osteria Morini Miami Beach or Giselle Miami.
New Orleans, Louisiana
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/GettyImages-608835417-d3078921a03d4b29aa3bbc0e747c314d.jpg)
Where to stay: Just northeast of the French Quarter, you’ll find Hotel Peter & Paul tucked away in the eclectic Marigny neighborhood, Odhner says. The church-turned-hotel is the perfect respite from a night of carousing and a solid home base for exploring the jazz scene on Frenchmen Street. Steeped in history, the hotel just launched a self-guided audio journey immersing guests in stories from locals who once lived, studied, and worshipped there.
What to do: Beyond the quintessential Bourbon Street barhopping, explore Louisiana’s wetlands with a swamp tour or spend the day on the water with a fishing boat charter. Pick up speed at NOLA Motorsports Park where you can race in a Ferrari (yes, you actually get to drive it!), and then slow things down with a hand-rolled stick at the Cigar Factory. When it comes to dining out, your crew won't be disappointed by Dooky Chase’s Restaurant, which opened its doors for business in 1941 (its storied history is just as good as its famous Creole Gumbo).
Key West, Florida

Where to stay: You may be in need of a tropical getaway. And if so, the southernmost part of Florida is the perfect spot to head to. Haynes recommends booking a stay at the Almond Tree Inn, an adults-only bed and breakfast with just 22 rooms, or the Havana Cabana, a waterfront adults-only resort.
What to do: If you're itching to do something other than lay out all day (although there's nothing wrong with that!), Haynes recommends planning a barhopping expedition down Duval Street—or booking a fishing excursion, sunset cruise or distillery visit. For the bachelor who loves golf, consider reserving a tee time at one of the area's courses.
Charleston, South Carolina
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/GettyImages-1469797584-4bd9f3b6f14148ab893692edec9518b9.jpg)

Where to stay: There's a reason why so many bachelor parties head to Charleston. With access to beaches, fantastic restaurants, and tons of nightlife, it's a great place to celebrate any groom-to-be. Haynes recommends booking a stay at the Emeline or The Ryder, two hotels located in the heart of the city.
What to do: In addition to exploring the restaurant and bar scene, book a round of golf at a nearby course, head to Sullivan's Island for a beach day, or reserve a table at a local brewery or distillery.
Austin, Texas
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/pg_daygrounds-7314019af854409aad917af2241bdd91.jpeg)

Where to stay: For a small-town vibe with metropolitan energy, Austin is the perfect party town for a varied group of groomsmen. City lovers will feel at home downtown at Hotel ZaZa, while aspiring cowboys will enjoy lounging in the landscaped courtyards at Lone Star Court, Odhner says.
What to do: Golf at one of the famed courses of Hill Country, watch the bats’ nightly flight from the Congress Avenue Bridge, stroll the quirky stretch that is Sixth Street, or escape the urban scene and venture to West Austin for more of a local vibe and lakeside lazing. Barbecue and Tex-Mex are essential in Austin. For the former, Franklin Barbecue is legendary for its ultra-tender brisket. For the latter, try the nopalitos tacos at El Alma.
Nashville, Tennessee

Where to stay: Head to Nashville for a cowboy-inspired experience full of country music, lively bars, and delicious Southern food. Haynes advises booking a stay at Virgin Hotels Nashville, the Hyatt Centric Downtown, or the Thompson Hotel Nashville, each of which has a rooftop and dining space.
What to do: To embrace the nightlife scene in Music City, Haynes recommends heading to the Twelve Thirty Club, which has a rooftop and supper club. Head to one of the bars along Broadway to hear the next stars of country music. And when you want to escape the business of the downtown strip, spend time in 12 South, a neighborhood full of restaurants and store. No trip to Nashville is complete without grabbing a Nashville hot chicken sandwich from Hattie B's, which has multiple locations around the city.
Las Vegas, Nevada

Where to stay: To no surprise, Las Vegas is a destination to consider if planning a trip that you and your crew are sure to love. When it comes to selecting the best place to stay for the weekend, the Wynn Las Vegas (and Encore, its sister property) is an absolute top choice, Odhner says. The property is home to over 25 restaurants—including the 1950s-inspired supper club, Delilah, and seafood restaurant Lakeside—in addition to several day and night clubs, like Encore Beach Club. The best part? You're located right on The Strip, so you and your guys can easily experience and explore the Las Vegas lifestyle.
What to do: While there are hundreds of activities to enjoy during your time in "Sin City," it wouldn't be a bachelor party without spending a night out at some of the most popular clubs. XS Nightclub is known for having the biggest events, hosted by some of the most famous DJs around the world, including Marshmello, Diplo, and The Chainsmokers. If you want to do something a bit more adventurous, consider zip lining on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas.
Aspen, Colorado

Where to stay: For the groom who wants to hit the slopes, consider booking a trip to Aspen, Colorado, one of the best bachelor party destinations. Avery Singer and Jolie Lauren Golub, the co-founders of BachBoss, recommend booking a stay at The W, The Little Nell, Hotel Jerome, or The St. Regis Aspen Resort.
What to do: While its known for its incredible skiing and snowboarding (as well as hiking in the summer months), there's plenty of other things to do in this Colorado town. Singer and Golub advise making a dinner reservation at a trendy spot, such as Campo De Fiori, Betula, or Catch before heading off to enjoy the night life (or an après-ski!) at The Snow Lodge, Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro, or The Sterling.
Scottsdale, Arizona

Where to stay: Head to this desert oasis to soak in the sun, enjoy a few rounds of golf, or hit the budding nightlife scene. Consider booking a stay at The Scott Resort & Spa, which has two outdoor pools, private cabanas, and a poolside bar, or Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows, a luxury resort hotel with wellness-forward offerings.
What to do: Scottsdale is known for its outdoor excursions. Reserve time for a morning hike or a round of golf to enjoy the desert surroundings. If you're a fan of Mexican food, Singer and Golub recommend making a reservation at Toca Madera or Sumomaya. When you're ready to head out on the town, they advise grabbing a round of drinks at Hi-Fi Kitchen & Cocktails before heading to Wasted Grain for some live music—or Giligin's if you're searching for a classic dive bar.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Where to stay: If you're looking for a tropical escape with plenty of group activities, consider book a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, a destination perfect for any bachelor party. Singer and Golub recommend booking a stay at one of the town's many luxury hotels, including Viceroy Los Cabos, Montage Los Cabos, or Le Blanc.
What to do: No bachelor party trip to Cabo San Lucas is complete without a trip to the famous Squid Roe, an iconic three-story dance club. For alternative nightclub options, Singer and Golub recommend heading to SHOREbar, a lively poolside cocktail bar. If you're searching for a spot to grab a bit to eat before you head out, they recommend Carbon Grill Restaurant, Invita Bistro, or Edith's Restaurante.
Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Where to stay: Situated on the northwest coast, El Mangroove is perfectly located, Odhner says. The all-inclusive hotel is complemented by environmentally-friendly design and values: Twice a week, guests of El Mangroove are invited to plant native mangrove trees nearby.
What to do: In a town abounding with exotic wildlife, scenic waterfalls, and breathtaking coastlines, you don’t necessarily need to do anything here. But for those searching for an activity, there’s Rincon de la Vieja Volcano National Park, fishing, beach hopping, and some of the best surfing in the world.
Montreal, Canada

Where to stay: You may not consider Montreal to be one of the best bachelor party destinations, but it is. With amazing skiing, a great nightlife scene, and tons of things to do, you won't regret hosting your celebration in this Canadian city. Haynes recommends booking a stay at the W Montreal or Hotel 10 Montreal.
What to do: Your options are endless in this French Canadian city. Book a craft beer or bike tour, take a speedboat ride, or go barhopping on Crescent Street, Haynes says. If you're looking for one place you have to hit, she advises making time to head to the Burgundy Lion, a laid-back British pub.
Judd Lake, Alaska

Packages include round-trip floatplane flights, lodging, gourmet meals, guide services, fishing equipment, a fitness center, a copper hot tub overlooking the lake, and a wood-fired sauna.
What to do: Thrill-seeking groups will be enthralled by the expanse of untouched Alaskan wilderness surrounding Judd Lake and the chance to go water skiing, wakeboarding, glacier hiking, or wildlife spotting in the Tordrillo Mountain Range. In the summer, the famous Kings & Corn experience offers up heli-skiing over corn snow in the morning and catching king salmon in the afternoon.

Where to stay: Nassau’s Baha Mar houses three major players in the hospitality game: Rosewood, SLS, and Grand Hyatt, but it’s SLS Baha Mar that sets the tone for a larger-than-life bachelor experience with playful sophistication and spirited day-to-nightlife activities, Odhner says.
What to do: Baha Mar beats Vegas any day with more than 40 restaurants and lounges, the largest casino in the Caribbean, an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus golf course, a buzzy beach club, and a brand new waterpark—all set against a breathtaking Bahamian backdrop. You never need to leave the resort, but if you do, take a 25-minute boat ride to Sandy Toes Rose Island where you'll be soaking up the sun on the uninhabited private isle. Go for a dip with the world-famous swimming pigs, or snorkel in the sparkling turquoise waters.

Located downtown at the intersection of quaint southern charm and big-city style, it’s the ideal home base for exploring the city, Odhner says.
What to do: Adventurers can rent canoes, hike the Kentucky River Palisades, or zipline 185 feet over the Boone Creek Gorge. Artistic types will enjoy the art scene in the hotel museum or downtown, and lovers of fine liquor will be in paradise among 14 of the state’s largest distilleries along the Bourbon Trail.

New shops, bars, breweries, and some of Tucson's hottest restaurants are proud to call downtown home. Of course, you can’t visit Tucson without venturing out to the cacti-dotted desert where you can climb Finger Rock or stroll along the Rillito riverbed. Here, urban enchantments meet epic scenery with contemporary suites boasting floor-to-ceiling windows and hiking trails from the hotel’s backyard.
