There’s no doubt that the wedding dresses released during Bridal Fashion Week get the most attention from real brides and industry experts, but we would be remiss not to spotlight the accessories that are carefully styled by designers when showcasing each collection. After all, these finishing touches single-handedly elevate each outfit, and are an essential piece to every wedding day ensemble.

More specifically, from coats and veils to scarves and crowns, designers explored fun and unique ways to dress up their garments this Fall 2024 season. Take, for example, jaw-dropping jackets with 3D accents, like Milla Nova’s iteration with rose-shaped appliqués or Halfpenny London’s blazer adorned with gathered tulle. Sweeping veils trimmed with lace were another standout moment, as THEIA and Morilee by Madeline Gardner (among others) highlighted this trend with their romantic designs. On the other hand, some bridal fashion creators opted for little-to-no accessories, making minimalism a fresh recurring theme.

For those who'd like to see all of the beautiful ways designers topped off their creations, keep scrolling for the top five accessory trends we saw at the Fall 2024 Bridal Fashion Week shows and presentations.

3D-Embellished Coats

This season, many designers leaned into eye-catching layers and outerwear pieces, like jackets adorned with 3D embellishments and other ornate details. Milla Nova’s latest line, for instance, featured an oversized jacket engulfed in textured roses, while one of Halfpenny London’s designs included a double-breasted satin blazer with bouncy tulle covering the sleeves. For brides looking to embrace this trend, accentuating your outfit with a coat is guaranteed to make a statement at any affair.

Lace-Trimmed Veils

Though wedding veils have made an appearance at past Bridal Fashion Weeks, this season, lace-trimmed versions were most prevalent. For the Fall 2024 collections, both THEIA and Morilee by Madeline Gardner debuted cathedral-length versions featuring elegant fabric embroidered around the edges. If you’re wearing a lace wedding dress on your big day, a matching veil, à la these designs, will help create a cohesive look while playing up the romance.

Neck Scarves

While some designers showcased necklaces this Fall 2024 season, others flaunted chic scarves. For instance, Nadia Manjarrez Bridal and The OWN Studio were two brands that enhanced some of their gowns with thick scarves reminiscent of collars. These accessories will bring a cool edge to any ensemble, but they’re especially effective with strapless dresses or ones with low necklines.

Sumptuous Tiaras

Your wedding day is an excuse to channel your inner princess, so why not top off your outfit with a tiara? For Fall 2024, labels Viktor & Rolf Mariage and Nardos designed lavish crowns to wear with a few of their dresses. The former welcomed a lush take on the accessory by creating a headpiece topped with 3D flowers, while the latter took cues from the royals with a towering iteration covered in glittering beads. Pro tip: Billowing ball gowns or sequined ensembles are the ideal base to let these accessories shine.

Less Is More

Although grand accessories took center stage at many of this season’s shows and presentations, some designers decided to scale back by opting to style their pieces with little to no jewelry. Why? They wanted to let the dress speak for itself without introducing any elements that would compete for your attention. If you’re a minimalist or your dress has an extraordinary design, consider this no-frills approach when accessorizing your frock.
