Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet have made a few public appearances here and there, but they’re a notoriously private (and seemingly casual) couple. And while they didn’t technically walk the red carpet together at the 2024 Golden Globes—celebrities’ classic “we’re official” signal—they did attend the very public event as a twosome, which marks a big first. According to TMZ, Chalamet, who was nominated for his leading role in Wonka, walked the red carpet solo before stealthily slipping Jenner inside the Beverly Hilton at the start of the awards ceremony; the couple ultimately entered the ballroom as a pair before taking a seat at their table in the front of the room.
Mid-ceremony footage shows the inseparable duo kissing, talking, and laughing at their table—and completely at ease in a room full of their peers. Even their ensembles were in sync: both Chalamet, up for his third career Golden Globe nomination, and Jenner opted for all-black looks, with the actor in a sparkling black suit from Celine Homme by Hedi Slimane and the entrepreneur in a sheer lace dress with an open back.
Though the duo has been linked for nearly a year now (they sparked dating rumors in April 2022), their relationship seems to have grown over the last few months. It wasn’t always this way: In its early days, an insider told Entertainment Tonight that the relationship was nothing “serious” and that the new pair was “seeing where it goes.” Casual dating gave way to a deeper commitment towards the end of 2023: According to People, Chalamet accompanied Jenner at the WSJ Magazine Innovators Awards in November 2023; a few days later, she attended a SNL after-party that took place after Chalamet’s hosting gig.
Chalamet and Jenner have been soft launching their relationship for nearly a year, but their interactions at the Golden Globes are a decided turning point—and awards show season is just getting started, after all. We didn’t get an iconic red carpet moment tonight, but there are plenty of opportunities just around the corner: From the upcoming Emmy Awards to the Oscars in February, this duo will have several more chances to take their partnership further into the open.
