As micro weddings and elopements rose to peak popularity in 2020, Brenna Simmons launched her own offering of non-traditional, nature-inspired, and sustainable gowns and accessories under the label Nordeen. According to the designer, it was her admiration for love and storytelling that prompted the launch of her inaugural bridal collection—in addition to planning her own outdoor nuptials.

"Not to be cliche, but on one hand, I love love. I love the story between two people in love. I love getting to know different kinds of love and how it shapes people into who they are. I love telling that story," says Simmons. "On the other hand, clothing has always been a form of self-expression and a way to tell your own story. Bridal was the perfect marriage between my love for the two."

With designs reflecting the unique simplicity of the natural elements, and Simmons' commitment to sustainable fashion, Nordeen's gowns exude of-the-moment elegance with an earthy edge. Ahead, the latest collection from Nordeen.

Nordeen Spring 2025

Nordeen's Spring 2025 wedding dress collection was inspired by "the concept of fluidity and the movement of water echoing human mentality," designer Brenna Simmons says. Each piece was designed as a way to process "emotional turbulence." For that reason, the fabrics Simmons chose were of the utmost importance, she explains. "The calm before the storm, glistening satin mimics bright sunlight reflecting across buoyant ocean surfaces. Billowing winds slowly pick up the tides through asymmetrically entwined satin chiffons, whilst a lustrous heavy silk emulates damp sea stacks standing sturdy against the increasing currents. Cascading chiffon mirrors tumbling waves crashing against eroding cliffs, with swirling riptides in spiring long adjustable sashes wrapped in unexpected ways. Reflected in a textured crinkle overlay, plummeting waterfalls hit the ocean floor before the skies clear and give way to a calm ocean breeze. Like a trickle of water finding the tiniest crack to push through, each piece is designed for those who have fought against the current, always feeling a little in-between. Overflowing with soft fabrications draped over and around grounded silhouettes, this collection preserves the strength needed to go with the flow—to be fluid," Simmons says.

The ten-piece collection features plenty of sheer overlays, structured pieces, and sets, which means there's something for everyone.

Feeling the most alive within the outdoors, the Nordeen bride is looking for attire that helps tell their story whilst harmonizing with their natural surroundings," reveals the designer. Take a look below.

In accordance with our diversity pledge, it's our duty to note that at the time of publishing, this brand/designer did not include BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) in their Spring 2022 campaign imagery. We have since reached out to this brand/designer to encourage them to include BIPOC imagery in not only this season’s campaign but in future campaigns as well.
