What are some of the different suit styles available?

Men's Wearhouse offers a wide range of fits, unique sizes, silhouettes, and colors to coordinate with any wedding theme and to express an individual’s personal style. Single-breasted, double-breasted, peak lapels, solids and patterns as well as linen or wool blends with stretch allow customers to truly find what works for their big day. The best place to start when finding a suit is with the fit. Many fits can work well with different body types, so it’s important to try them on and understand what looks best and what makes you feel most comfortable.

“Each fit has its own benefits and it ultimately comes down to personal style and preference,” Adams-Browning says. “Men's Wearhouse also offers expert tailoring to further personalize your look and ensure the perfect fit.”

What style is trending right now?

This year, it’s all about sophistication and comfort. “Fabrics with stretch and temperature control keep grooms cool and comfortable while still looking sharp, no matter the climate or venue. The Awearness Kenneth Cole AWEAR-TECH Slim Fit Suit Separates Coat in Black & White Sharkskin is a perfect option.

Of course, classic looks like the Calvin Klein Slim Fit Peak Lapel Suit Separates Tuxedo Jacket in Black never go out of style. “There is still a lot of interest in a classic tuxedo and getting dressed up for the big day,” Adams-Browning explains. “Men’s Wearhouse offers a number of formal tuxedo fits and silhouettes, including peak lapel jackets and double-breasted, which are really popular right now.”

A slim fit silhouette is a sophisticated look and remains a go-to option for grooms who want to look sharp and elegant on their big day. If you’re feeling adventurous, try a new color like light blue, dark green, or burgundy. Styles like the Awearness Kenneth Cole Modern Fit Suit in Burgundy really make a statement.

Is it better to rent or buy?

Renting a suit is often the more affordable option, especially if you don't plan on wearing it again. It’s also convenient for your wedding party. Men’s Wearhouse offers a variety of styles and fits to choose from, and the rental process is quick and easy. Even better? Rental packages are complete and typically come with accessories like ties, shirts, shoes, and pocket squares.

Buying a suit also has its own benefits. When you buy your look, you can wear it over and over again, making it a worthwhile investment. A purchased suit can also be customized to fit your personal style and preferences.

How much should I budget for my wedding suit?

It depends on you and your preferences, but you’re guaranteed to find a good range of price points. “At Men’s Wearhouse, we offer amazing suits for any budget,” Adams-Browning says. “Our prices start at $99.99 for complete rental packages and $249.99 to purchase.”

What material is best?

The weather, season, and location of a wedding should all play a role in determining what material will keep you feeling comfortable and looking sharp throughout the big day. One of the most popular options is wool. It’s a versatile fabric that can be worn year round, and it’s available in a range of weights and textures. A wool or wool-blend suit is a smart choice for anything from a backyard wedding to a black tie affair.

When it comes to summer and beach weddings, cotton or linen suits are great choices. These fabrics are lightweight and breathable, making them ideal for warmer weather. At Men’s Wearhouse, you can find linen suits in a wide variety of colors with matching accessories and shoes to complete the look.

What color should I wear?

Navy blue suits have become increasingly popular in recent years. They provide a classic, stylish look while being versatile enough to pair with a variety of shirt and tie colors. Charcoal gray is another popular option. A style like the Calvin Klein Charcoal Gray Performance Wool Suit offers a modern, sophisticated look that pairs well with white and light blue shirts. Black suits are always a safe bet. They add a touch of formality to any occasion.

“For spring and summer, tan and light blue suits are very popular,” Adams-Browning explains. “There are so many color options right now. We're also seeing burgundy and greens trending in fall and winter and pastel colors like rose in spring and summer.”

What lapel style should I go for?

For a formal wedding, a peaked lapel like the BLACK by Vera Wang Black Peak Lapel Tux is a classic choice. This style is defined by a V-shape created by the lapels meeting at a point just below the collar. It adds a touch of sophistication and elegance to any suit or tuxedo.

If the wedding is a bit more relaxed, consider a notch lapel like the BLACK by Vera Wang Blue Suit. With a small notch where the lapels meet the collar, it’s a versatile option that can be dressed up or down. And, if you want to make a statement, a shawl collar lapel like the Calvin Klein Slim Fit Satin Shawl Collar Tuxedo is the way to go. This lapel style features a smooth, rounded collar that runs along the neckline. It's a more daring choice.

How can I tell if the suit fits?

Fit is everything. Here’s what to look out for:

  1. Shoulder fit: They should fit snugly without any bunching or sagging. The seam where the sleeve meets your shoulder should align with the natural curve of it.
  2. Sleeve length: They should end at your wrist bone, showing about one-quarter to one-half inch of your shirt cuff.
  3. Jacket length: It should be long enough to cover your butt, but not so long that it bunches up in the back when you sit down. The jacket should end at the knuckles of your thumbs when standing with your arms at your side.
  4. Waist fit: Your jacket should fit snugly around your waist without any gaping or pulling. You should be able to comfortably button it.
  5. Pant length: They should break just above the shoes with a slight crease at the front. If they're too long, they'll puddle around your ankles. If they're too short, they'll expose your socks.

Another way to ensure your suit fit is perfect is to have it tailored. Men's Wearhouse has skilled tailors who can help make sure your suit looks and feels phenomenal. “Don’t limit a style choice based on body type,” Adams-Browning advises. “Choose what makes you feel most comfortable and stylish for the important day, and let our tailors make the fit perfect.”
