Walk Now Vancouver for Autism Speaks

We will be performing at the Vancouver Autism Walk in Stanley Park next Sunday (Sept 29th). This is the second year in a row that we are playing this event. This fundraiser is for a great cause.  Here are some disturbing facts from Autism Speaks:

  • Autism now affects 1 in 88 children and 1 in 54 boys
  • Autism prevalence figures are growing
  • Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability
  • Autism costs a family $60,000 a year on average
  • Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases
  • Boys are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism
  • There is no medical detection or cure for autism

Registration starts at 8:30am, which is also when we begin. The event goes till noon. Come out and join us at Lumberman’s Arch in Stanley Park.

Rockin' the Richmond Night Market

Once again we played at the Richmond Night Market (Aug 23rd). Great crowd. Great food. Great large inflatable ducks.

We opened the set with 4th of July, a cover of a song by the ’80’s band ‘X’. Anyone remember them? John Doe? We closed with Happy by the Stones and then Sweet Jane by the Velvet Underground. Good times.
