Congratulations are in order for TikToker Emily Mariko! On July 22, 2023, she officially married her longtime partner, Matt Rickard, in an intimate ceremony at the Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Since getting engaged in October 2021, her 2.7 million TikTok followers have been anxiously waiting to get a glimpse of her nuptials. So naturally, once it came time to tie the knot, the social media star captured tons of videos, including her multiple (and we mean multiple) outfit changes. While known for her cooking and lifestyle videos (Mariko went viral in the Summer of 2021 for her now-famous salmon and rice bowls), the social media star switched up her content in order to share her impressive wedding wardrobe with the world.
To kick things off, she wore a halter mini dress designed by Magda Burtrym and accessorized her look with a "something blue" Dior bag for her welcome dinner. She then changed into a vest and trousers by Ralph Lauren for the rehearsal dinner, keeping her look fresh, elegant, and in line with her overall quiet luxury aesthetic.
For the main event, her wedding day, Mariko took things up a notch by wearing not one, not two, but four different looks throughout the course of her celebration. Her first look (which she wore for the drive to the ceremony location) was a ruffled mini dress from Mirror Palais, accessorized with white ballet flats and a low twisted bun.
Once it was time to walk down the aisle, the TikTok star slipped into another Mirror Palais creation: a custom, strapless A-line gown with a cathedral-length train. To complete the look, Mariko wore pointed, closed-toe heels and a simple tulle veil. And given that this was the main gown of the evening, the social media maven made sure to post several videos of this ensemble, including a clip of her dad walking her down the aisle and a sweet video of her first look with her Baba (grandmother).
For her third look of the night, Mariko changed into a silk ivory slip dress with a cowl neckline for the reception. She accessorized her getup with a chiffon shawl dropped over her arms, white strappy heels, and a posy of white garden roses. (Yes, she even changed her wedding bouquet during the night!)
Finally, to end the festivities, Mariko put on a strapless mini dress with a handkerchief hem and a flower detail at the neckline, which he paired with white strappy sandals. The result? A fun, flirty, and chic after-party ensemble.
As expected, TikTok users couldn't get enough of her six looks with many leaving comments like "Textbook definition of a timeless dress. I could have been worn 50 years ago and can be worn 100 years from now. Perfect!" and "Pure elegance. Never fails to deliver. All the best in this next chapter of your life." And we couldn't agree more!
